Self Awareness

“To have greater self awareness or understanding means to have a better grasp of reality” – Dalai Lama

Self awareness is the capacity to gain an accurate, deep understanding of one’s own behaviors and feelings. It is having a realistic reception of one’s personality including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivations and emotions.

This understanding allows the individual

  • To make behavioral changes that can lead to greater intra and inter personal success.
  • To adapt their behaviors as the needs of each situation dictates.
  • To make appropriate choices based not only on their own capabilities but also by recognizing their limitations.
